Covers
These are a starting set, and more are on the way. If none of them is right, ask — we would rather make one than sell you the wrong one.
Put a name on it
Type a name and it appears on every cover below, exactly as it would be printed. Two lines, up to twenty characters each. The second line is optional — most people use it for dates, or for the name a family actually uses.

The cover you choose goes on the workbook. The Full Interview and The Written Story have no workbook, so for those it goes on the hardback. If a workbook later becomes a hardback, we’ll ask you then whether you’d like the same picture or a different one.
What gets printed, exactly
- Two lines, up to twenty characters each. The second line is optional.
- Set in a serif, centred on a plate in the lower third of the cover, so it sits clear of the picture rather than on top of it.
- Twenty characters takes almost any name. “Walter Nowak” is twelve. “Margaret Whitfield” is eighteen. A name longer than that goes across both lines.
- Spaces count. So do punctuation and accents — and accents are welcome, they print correctly.
- You see it before it prints. The cover usually comes to you as a proof within two working days, and nothing goes to the printer until you say yes.
The cover is 100 lb laminated stock with a matte finish — substantially heavier than the pages inside it. It is a cover, not a paper wrapper.
